Cat Mehta sews the seeds of societal transformation with a synthesis of interdisciplinary art, music and education. They draw inspiration from their queer community and their Punjabi Irish-American family to create work with a universal inclusive perspective. They have performed and collaborated on pieces at Berkeley Art Museum, Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, Portland Art Museum, Portland Museum of Modern Art, 2220 Arts + Archives, Rolling Loud, Et Al Etc. Gallery, Gospel Flats Farmstand Gallery, Performing Arts Forum, and the Getty Center. Their films have been featured in SÁFICXS International Film Festival, Cinema Diverse Palm Springs LGBTQ+ Film Festival, Failed Films Festival, and East Village Queer Film Festival, where they won "Best Music Video".
They have shared their inspiration and perspective with hundreds of students over the years as a multi-instrumental music teacher and choir director at Los Angeles Music and Art School, ACME House of Music, Starfish Studios, Bay Area Girls Rock Camp, Willie Mae Rock Camp For Girls in New York, Chicas Rockeras SELA, and currently the Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls L.A. They serve as the Music Director of the LA protest chorus Onward Voices and compose original choral music for social justice causes. They have scored films by Marc Wiskemann and Rachel Silveria and been included on the soundtrack of "Undocumented Tales", a series by Armando Ibañez. Their work with Amplifier began creating music for animated artworks of the Well + Being series and the Play Proud campaign. They are very excited to bring their creative ingenuity to the Amplifier team.
