“TOGETHER” was inspired by the magnitude of feelings — particularly in relation to familial and communal love and especially around separation and distance in the context of immigration, deportation, and displacement. The piece portrays a family in a warm embrace, taking up larger-than-life space amid the Seattle skyline. The warmth they feel in being together overpowers the landscape, and their overwhelming stature is only rivaled by the severity of being separated. Together, they have a place amongst the city’s landmark buildings, and they stand tall, supported, and home at last.
