Through our Global Open Call for Art we are awarding $1000 to 100 artists from around the world to create symbols that build trust in the safety and efficacy of vaccines, advocate for vaccine equity, and help combat vaccine disinformation.

My poster is one of a series of three original oil paintings. I used oil due to its association with portraits of important historical figures, adding gravity to the message in the poster. The pose recalls the images of ‘Rosie the Riveter’ repurposed with diverse figures for a modern cause. The phrase ‘Roll Up your Sleeves’ suggests a collective spirit in which we all work together to eradicate the virus; we all have a part to play and the poster is a call to action.
