It’s time to Reframe the issues that have been used to divide us, and start the conversations that can restore our faith in each other, renew our hope, and reweave the social fabric of this country that has been torn apart.

Renée DiResta is the Technical Research Manager at the Stanford Internet Observatory, a cross-disciplinary program of research, teaching and policy engagement for the study of abuse in current information technologies. Renee studies the dynamics of malign narratives on social and media networks. Her work examines the ways in which distinct actor types leverage the information ecosystem to exert influence – from domestic activists promoting health misinformation and conspiracy theories, to well-resourced full-spectrum information operations executed by state-sponsored actors – and draws on those findings to consider policy, education, and design responses. She is an IDEAS contributor for The Atlantic and Wired.
