Climate change affects everyone — so the conversations surrounding it should include everybody’s voices. The Dogwood Alliance’s Justice First tour is doing exactly that. The campaign is traveling throughout seven states in the South this spring and summer to promote an intersectional, grassroots approach to forest preservation that takes the needs of all communities into account.

In partnership with the tour, Amplifier commissioned artist Celeste Byers while she was on a residency in the South to create this piece appealing to the region’s rich wildlife and diverse population. All of the flora and fauna that Byers incorporated into her artwork are native to the region and celebrate the environmental and cultural impact that can come from a united fight for clean energy.
