Amplifier set out to create icons of hope that rejected the hate, fear, and open racism that were normalized during the 2016 presidential campaign. We commissioned artists Shepard Fairey, Ernesto Yerena and Jessica Sabogal to create a series of images that remind us that our America is one of equal humanity that does not demean or discriminate. We held a series of language labs with cultural leaders in the United States, and from there, the We the People campaign was born.
This piece from artist Jessica Sabogal focuses on the love, affection, and inspiration that will continue to persevere through the darkness. With the help of Amplifier’s donors, we will continue to spread Sabogal’s message in classrooms and public spaces. We are stronger than all hostility. We are indivisible.
